How To - Freeze your Holds
Freeze Your “Holds” When You Will Be Away!
CLAMS has introduced a new feature that allows you to “freeze” your holds (books you have requested) if you expect to be away when they might arrive at the library. By freezing the hold you remain at the same position on the list of all patrons waiting for that item. That is, you don’t lose your place because you weren’t able to pick the item up when it arrived.
When you return, you “unfreeze” your holds and you’ll still be at the same position (#2, #7, #42, etc.) you were when you first froze your items.
To freeze your holds:
1. Go to www.clamsnet.org
2. Click on “View My Account”
3. Follow directions on Login page then click “submit”
4. When your record comes up, click on “View Outstanding Holds”
5. Click on “Freeze” box (far right) next to the item you wish to freeze AND THEN click on “Update List“
6. To “unfreeze” items follow steps 1—4 and then unclick “Freeze” box AND “Update List” box
DON"T FORGET
With your CLAMS card and PIN you can ............
1. Reserve your own book
2. Renew your items
3. Put on freeze on your holds
4. Download audio and E-books
5. See your account - what you have out and if you owe any money
6. Use the Commonwealth catalog to order any materials in Massachusetts
